Pinewood Derby Update - More Racing added

This years Pinewood Derby will feature MORE RACING than ever before! ! !

March 3rd: Pre-Race "Test & Tune" Day .....

Come and try your car on the Official YIGP P/W track and get tips and help in the pits from some of our most experienced racers.

When: March 3rd Time: 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Where: United Methodist Church - 100W. Cossit Ave, LaGrange

March 4th: Race Day

You will have the opportunity to race against Guides and Princesses from our own age group. Watch who will become "King of the Hill" and go on to the Champion Race

February 10th, 2012: Kachina Princess Dance .. Come to the Riverside Golf club for a special evening with your Little Princess ... They won't be little for long so enjoy this time you have together. See below for additional details.

February 25th, 2012: Chicago Wolves Game. Come enjoy the Chicago Wolves as the play the Abbotsford Heat at 7:00 pm. All participants will receive a Hat Voucher, A Wolves Patch and a chance for your Brave or Princess to win an official Jersey. For additional details, click HERE

Daddy Daughter Dance, February 10, 2012

Each year the Kachina Tribe hosts a Daddy Daughter Dance.
This years event will be February 10, 2012 at
The Riverside Golf Club, 2520 Des Plaines Avenue, Riverside.
Tickets will be on sale between 10 am and 6 pm, Tuesday to Saturday at Salon D'Amore; 52 East Burlington Road, Riverside; The cost is $35 per person.
Activities include:
Dinner, Dancing, corsages and a gift for the girls and boutonnieres for the dads and a professional photo to remember the evening.
Proceeds from the event will be used to support YMCA Indian Princess activities as well as local organizations.

This event is being held on February 4th ... It's our world renowned 1 day ski trip to Sunburst in Wisconsin. It may not be know around the world, but it is the talk of the Western Burbs.... ATTENTION ALL SECRET SANTA SHOPPERS

It is time to return all your filled bags. Drop in nights are this Tuesday and Thursday (11/29 & 12/1) from 7-9pm at Santa’s workshop. The workshop is located IN BACK of 110 Calendar court in downtown LaGrange. Simply pull into the parking lot next to the Magic Wok off of Harris Street and drive into the Alley behind the Senior Center. Volunteers will be there to take the bags (you don’t even need to leave your car).

On behalf of the LaGrange Community Nurses Association and all the kids you are helping this year, thank you for your generosity and Happy Holidays!

Christmas Tree Sales - Starts November 25th

Please come out and help the YMCA's Men's Club sell Christmas trees!
It's a great way to earn a patch, have fun with your tribe.
Nothing gets you in the Holiday Spirit faster than the smell of Pine, Hot Chocolate and the laughter and giggles of your Princess or Brave.

The tree lot is the same as last year - in the Gordon Park handball courts behind the old YMCA building (LaGrange and Ogden)

For the 18th consecutive year, the Federation will be participating in the LaGrange Community Nurses Association’s Secret Santa program. Since 1988 the programs mission has been to provide functional necessities for children in LaGrange and 15 surrounding communities whose parents have limited means of providing them. This is a great opportunity to share some “Holiday Spirit” with less fortunate children by adopting them for the Christmas season. It couldn’t be easier and you’ll have some fun with your tribe. Simply pick up a bag at the November Longhouse and schedule a shopping trip with your tribe. Inside the bag will be complete instructions with some information on the child and what they need for Christmas. The Christmas Presents that we provide range from warm clothes and school supplies to a few toys. Each adopted child represents $125 to $150 commitment. Last year we were able to help over 220 kids have a little brighter Christmas and this year we can do even better! If you would like to adopt a child for Christmas this year pick up a shopping bag at the November Longhouse.
